We have come to Day Three of our Broadway Bound Blogathon, and more great entries are ahead (See Day Two here). As usual, I will post new arrivals throughout the day. So let’s get right to them…
Amanda from Old Hollywood Films leads with a look at the history of The King and I. Who knew this classic got off to a slow start?
Katrina at LifesDailyLessonsBlog gives out with a great review of 1968’s Funny Girl, which portrays the life of Ziegfeld veteran Fanny Brice.
Catherine at Thoughts All Sorts introduces us to the 2005 film, Proof. The play began off-Broadway, but then moved up. It’s also a mystery as to who wrote it.
Patricia, aka Caftan Woman, lets us into the lives of The Royal Family of Broadway (1930). No, not that Royal Family. 😉
Rob at MovieRob brings us a Neil Simon double-header with Brighton Beach Memoirs (1986) and Biloxi Blues (1988).
We begin the beguine with Lé at Crítica Retrò and The Broadway Melody of 1940.
Here’s my third and last review of Ziegfeld movies, including the 1946 extravaganza.
Be sure to check back tomorrow too, because I will be doing a curtain call, as well as posting any remaining entries. Thanks for reading, and see you then!

Sorry it’s late! I knew this post was going to require a lot of work, but I still can’t believe how long it took me to put it together. Now I can finally check out the other posts!

Can the article still be added to the curtain call or is it too late?

Oh yeah, it’s fine. I was going to add it last night, but I fell asleep. Sorry about that. Will definitely put it in there when I get home!

That’s cool. I wasn’t sure, because it was super late. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it.

Oh yeah, definitely! I got to read part of it, except for that pesky sleeping. I did a deep clean of my apartment this week. Totally worth it, but exhausting. 🙂

Cleaning is exhausting, but at least its done. By the way I’ve just announced my next blogathon. I’m a bit late announcing it this year. I have had so much on my plate. Here is the link below. https://crystalkalyana.wordpress.com/2018/06/15/announcing-the-fourth-annual-barrymore-trilogy-blogathon/

Yeah, we’re all swamped right now, I think. And yes, please! I was thinking Dinner at Eight, Key Largo, and He’s Just Not That Into You, if that’s OK.

Hi Crystal! That’s a great idea. I think I’d like to look at Citizen Kane and Cotten’s time with the Mercury Players. Thanks for inviting me!

Wonderful choices Rebecca. I was thinking for a while about writing about the Mercury Theatre, but then I decided on other choices. Thanks for joining.
